Rhodesian Ridgeback Races

Baarc (Bay Area Rhodesian Ridgeback Club) hosted dog races at Kirigin Cellars in Gilroy, CA. Kirigin has a lot of local events that they host and they’re located on Central California’s Wine Trail. The property is gorgeous. They have soccer fields surrounded by vineyards.

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are considered the Navy Seals of dogs. They are lion hunters and can keep up with a running horse for 30 miles.

Many wineries offer overnight RV parking so you can wake up and enjoy the beauty of the vineyards, stroll on over to taste some wine, bring back a bottle to your home and not worry about driving anywhere. The Thousand Trails Morgan Hill Resort is just down the street from Kirigin and is right on the Wine Trail.

I was really impressed with the speed of these hounds. They get up to 50 mph chasing a white bag on a rope. The way they set up the races was really interesting. photo 2 (8)photo 2 (13)photo 2 (10)photo 3 (11)photo 3 (12) photo 3 (13) photo 4 (12) photo 5 (3)
