First Friends in the Road Warrior

I’ve got a good friend from Peru who I’ve known for many years. He is living with his wife in Florida so they headed over to go camping with us for the weekend. We were excited because they were our first guests in the Heartland Road Warrior Toy Hauler.

I was also secretly excited because he’s not much of a camper. Many years ago I took him hiking in Gatlinburg and it was the first time he had seen snow coming down. I love showing people how exciting the RV life can be and inspiring people to get out and camp so I was excited to see what Dan thought about a Glamping experience. After all, they were going to have their own room on a queen size bed with an incredibly comfortable memory foam mattress.

Peace (11)A few months ago we were at this same campground. I was in a conversation with one of the neighbors and he brought up Fossil Hunting at the Campground. He offered for us to use his gear and we headed out on a mission to find some fossils. It was such a blast that when we were thinking of things to do with our friends we thought this would be a great idea. The same couple who lent us the gear before were at the campsite again so we headed over and they lent it to us again.

We had a large group of Kayakers heading passed.

photo 4 (2)After giving them a tour and catching up for awhile we started grilling off the Toy Hauler Deck. It was neat because they cooked for us! Dan grilled a feast. One thing that we found interesting is he brought over a bunch of asparagus. I thought that was a pretty random thing to bring over but it turns out Peru is the number one exporter in the world for asparagus. He knew how to make it taste great!

We had a few bunches of logs and ended the evening having a nice campfire and smores! It’s great to chat around over a campfire.

The next day I took him upon the roof. He was pretty surprised by how tall the Road Warrior is. It makes for a great view. Then we went and checked out the campground.

Then we went hiking at Pioneer Park which was across the street from the RV Resortphoto 3 (37)_tonemappedDSC_0061DSC_0112_tonemapped

We found a rope swing on our hike. I gave it a few swings into the water.
