America’s Largest Apple Festival

Apples are awesome, Gettysburg is awesome. It just makes sense that the 50th anniversary of the largest apple festival in America in Gettysburg would be awesome….It was!
There are so many people that go to this event they have fields full of cars for parking. They had quite a few RVers camping out in the parking lot. They have buses that are constantly taking people to and from the event just down the street.
I thought this was a neat creation. I opened the door and it was a closet type storage unit, very funny!
They had a few different stages of live music. One was devoted entirely to Blue Grass. Apparently it’s popular in this region because it was packed most of the day.
The main headline for the music was Brittany Opperman. We really enjoyed listening to her and her band. She’s extremely talented and her drummer really rocked the place!
They had a great puppet show going on for kids.
If there is a Zombie Apocalypse I want this guy on my side.
They had Indian Dancers performing.
I grew up snowmobiling in Minnesota. It’s one of my favorite outdoor activities. I was happy to see they have snowmobiling in Pennsylvania. In fact, the Snowmobiling Club of Adams County let me know they have a trail just a few miles north of Gettysburg.
There is fair food… and then there is pumpkin funnel cakes! Epic.
They had an entire field of cars for the car show.
Santa must have taken a break from the North Pole to come look at the classic cars.
They had a petting zoo and really neat crafts for kids. They even had a live band in the kids barn. Kids can ride horses and get a hug from a big apple.
Apple cotton candy, wow!
After the apple festival we went downtown Gettysburg to grab a bite to eat. We found a great local restaurant called The Garryowen. It has a cool vibe and the food was outstanding.
