If you’re looking for an American
Adventure near San Diego head over to the Olympic Training Facility in Chula Vista, CA. This is where some of the top athletes in the world train year round and it’s available to be toured by the public!
Our good friends The Richards met us at the Road Warrior to hang out for awhile. Bill and I went for a bike ride on the trail behind the RV. It leads to a maze of other trails you can take into the mountains. Eventually we headed out to the Olympic Training Facility. It was around 5 miles away from the Pio Pico RV Resort.
We were looking for a great way to kick off our 6 month Border to Border “Mega RV Surfing Trip” that was going to take us all the way up the West Coast. The Thousand Trails Pio Pico RV Resort in Jamul, CA put us right near the California/Mexican border. In fact there was nothing between the back deck on our Road Warrior and Mexico.
You NEVER know what’s going to happen when you Go RVing! We kicked off our 6 month Border to Border Surfing Trip up the West Coast at the Pio Pico RV Resort nestled into the mountains of Jamul, CA. While I was hiking from the campground, I ended up getting an unexpected ride in the back of the Border Patrol!
Anza Borrego is California’s largest State Park. Each spring the Wildflowers bloom in a big way, covering the landscape. I met up with my good friends Brandon and Veronica to explore this amazing desert in search of the Spring Wildflowers.
You can’t start a Border to Border RV Trip without starting out at the border! Danielle and I are embarking on a 6 month journey up the west coast from the CA/Mexico border, all the way the Washington/Canada border. Read More
Saguaro National Park wasn’t on our radar of places to visit. In fact, we didn’t even know it existed. We were heading across the country to San Diego and after driving all day we decided to park it at a Walmart in Tuscon Arizona around midnight. On the way to the Walmart we noticed the National Park signs and after a little research, it turns out it was right around 5 miles from us! Read More
We were traveling as fast as we could with a 3 month old newborn in a 44 ft toy hauler from Minnesota to San Diego. Although we were being efficient with our time we made sure to stop at all the major hot spots on our route. One of them happened to be this geological phenomenon that’s turned into one of the most popular dive spots in the country!
White Sands National Monument has been on my bucket list for awhile now. We were traveling from Minnesota to San Diego, CA for our West Coast Adventure. One of the things I LOVE about trip planning is that it’s often an open book. Like a “choose your own adventure” storybook. We looked at a few of the top places we wanted to check out and contoured the route to accommodate those adventures.
Finally she’s here! Ella, our little RV Baby!
We happened to be in Texas when we conceived and found out the news of Ella’s arrival. The news wasn’t a shock, we’d been trying for a fun filled month… However this meant some major decisions and changes to our already uprooted lifestyle.
Change is a Constant of Life, Embrace It
Minnesota is a great place to visit
in the summer! It has beautiful lakes, woods, farmland, and a great culture of “nice” people. It’s the cold of the winter that scares people (and rightfully so).
Change is one of the constants of life. Embrace it, live it and love it.
While we were RVing in Minnesota for the summer something happened that changed the entire circumstances of our pregnancy, and plans… Read More
